Chamber News 🗞️ from our meeting today!

Rainier Chamber of Commerce Business of the Quarter Award

It is with great pleasure that we get to recognize and award the Rainier Liquor Store as Business of the Quarter.

Tracy and her team have been a great example of what it means to run a solid business in times of uncertainty. From dealing with supply chain issues and the demands of peanut butter whiskey, they always find a way to keep theirs shelves stocked!

When you walk into their store you are always welcomed with a smile. They really take the time to engage their customer and are excellent about making recommendations, sharing cocktail recipes and making folks feel welcome. Their focus around making Rainier a great place to live is apparent too. They are generous and thoughtful around how they give back from making monetary donations to local non profits and donating their personal time to serve as well. For these reasons mentioned the Rainier Chamber would like to say thank you and offer up this plaque which we hope you will place proudly in your business as the Business of the Quarter!

EXCITING, BREAKING NEWS!

Today, NEXT Renewable Fuels received its Air Permit from the Oregon DEQ (Oregon Department of Environmental Quality).

This is a monumental milestone for our $2B renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel project at Port Westward as it's one of the final permitting hurdles at the state level, and one of the nation's most challenging air quality permits to obtain.

Join us in celebration by liking and commenting on this post, and sharing it with your own network.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Welcome 🤗

Hello everyone! 👋
This is your new Rainier City Librarian, Allen Snider, checking in. ✒️ ✅

I’ve been so happy to meet some of you already during my service as Interim Director over the last few months.

Now as August begins, I’m really excited to officially start my ‘tenure among the texts’ on the 3rd floor of City Hall! 📚 🏛 📘

If you haven’t been up to the Library in a while, you’re a newcomer, or a regular visitor; whether you need to print a few pages using our brand-new PCs, or are just looking for a quiet, cool place to study for a test or enjoy your next great read —

Our doors are open to the public from 9:00am to 4:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday,
from 10:30am to 4:30pm on Wednesday and Friday,
and on Saturday from 10:30am to 2:30pm

(My stomach would also like me to remind everyone that the Library will be closed for our regularly scheduled Lunchtime from around 1:30pm to 2:00pm on weekdays. Thanks for understanding!) 🍽

I encourage folks to come up to our welcoming space, say hi, take a look in a book, ask a question, and/or share your ideas for how we can best fulfill our mission to provide diverse learning opportunities to the Rainier community.

Thanks for reading!

✌️ 💛 📖 🖖,
Allen — your friendly local ‘Bookman’ 🥸
