See that goat? That's Felix. He's fast and sneaky and has a history of snatching plastic baggies from unsuspecting hands.

Please, when feeding apple or carrot pieces to the goats, keep all plastic packaging away from them.

Pro tip! Do not let children hold the bags. Parents and caregivers should always hold onto the baggies.

There's still time to check out this month's StoryWalk®! Until October 31st, Oak View's brick walkways will feature the children's book: Griselda Snook’s Spectacular Books by Barry Timms (Author) and Laura Borio (Illustrator).

When a young boy named Henry steps into Griselda Snook's Halloween-themed bookstore, he's certain that he won't find a book that's just right for him--or will he?

When Henry finds a key on the sidewalk and gives it to its owner, he follows her into a huge bookstore. Griselda Snook's Spectacular Books, which features a vast array of Halloween-themed books and caters especially to Halloween characters, has books for every interest. Despite the variety in choices, Henry isn't convinced that he'll find anything for himself. Could a guest reader at the store, Magenta Screech, have the perfect book for Henry?

StoryWalk® at Oak View is free, requires no advanced registration, and is open during the park's normal hours of operation. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

Ten years ago this week, Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc along the southeast coast of the U.S. While most of its destruction occurred from flooding caused by heavy rains, Matthew's winds were strong enough to uproot three large trees in Oak View's Pecan Grove.
