A huge THANK YOU to Guilty Party, Foothills Tasting Room, our generous donors, raffle supporters, and everyone who came out for the Concert for ALS Awareness in honor of Dr. Mark Stallworth.

Together, this amazing community raised $10,000 for ALS United North Carolina! These funds will help support care, advocacy, research, and resources for individuals and families impacted by ALS across North Carolina.

We are so excited to announce we're hosting our second annual ALS Classic to benefit those living with ALS in NC!

We are thrilled to aannounce that Jennifer D’Entremont has joined our team as our new Care Services Coordinator! Jennifer will provide support to people living with ALS (pALS) and their families at the Duke ALS Clinic.

Jennifer brings 12 years of nursing experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including medical-surgical and telemetry units at UMass Memorial Medical Center, rehabilitation, and long-term care, as well as medical office and school environments. She also brings many years of experience in the travel industry, giving her a diverse background and a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Jennifer is passionate about helping others, building meaningful relationships, and making a positive difference in the lives of those she serves. We are thrilled to welcome her to our ALS care services team and know that her compassion, experience, and dedication will be a wonderful resource for the individuals and families we support.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and their three children: Grace, a senior at James Madison University; Jack, a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill; and Lucas, a junior in high school. She also loves traveling, spending time with her pets, and cheering on the New England Patriots!

Community Partner Spotlight: Papa Barks

Sometimes the most meaningful ideas are born from personal experience.

In 2020, Mark founded Papa Barks, an online gaming fundraiser inspired by his father's ALS diagnosis. What began as a way to fight alongside his dad has grown into an incredible community event that continues to honor his father's legacy following his passing in 2022.

Over the past five years, Papa Barks has raised more than $318,000 to support individuals and families affected by ALS and to advance ALS research. In recognition of these extraordinary efforts, the event has received the Circle of Excellence Award from ALS United North Carolina.

Today, Papa Barks brings gamers and supporters together from across the country to raise awareness and critical funds for ALS United North Carolina. Through the power of online gaming and community, participants are helping ensure that families facing ALS have access to the care, support, and resources they need.

We are incredibly grateful to Mark and everyone involved with Papa Barks for transforming one family's ALS journey into a lasting legacy of hope. Their dedication is a powerful reminder that every passion can become a force for good.
