CALLING IN THE TRIANGLE, NC!📣

We want you to join us Thursday, June 18th for our Off the Page series. Off the Page is a space for political education and cultural study. Through literature, music, and visual art from Black and Indigenous thinkers, artists, and movement leaders, we will deepen our understanding of power, sharpen our analysis, and build tools for organizing, advocacy, and transformation. Not just what we know, but how we move with it.

Some partnerships just make sense.

When OUR people come together, something special happens.

Community. Culture. Collaboration. That’s what was all about.

A huge thank you to the ridiculously talented team over at for helping us bring this one of a kind experience to life as we celebrate 25 years of showing up for our people all across NC.

The food, the music, the conversations, the connections, and most importantly, the people made it a night to remember.

To everyone who pulled up, thank you. We’re still smiling 🖤

OUR people know what it means to pray without ceasing. And when the Bible and Christianity get used to make it harder for Black people to elect the candidates they want in office, prayer alone isn’t enough — civic action has to come with it.

In this video, Pastor James Gailliard breaks down Christian nationalism: what it is, why it matters and why those in the Black church must exercise their faith through their work in and around the ballot box.

Drop a love offering by leaving your thoughts in the comments section. And ask Word Tabernacle Church about its BLOC initiative (Ballots Legislative Organizing Coalition) while you’re there. That’s where civic action starts.

Earlier this month, we partnered with HEARO in Supply, NC for OUR State of Health: In Celebration of Mothers and Caregivers. Community members came together for meaningful conversations with state and local voices, including Black Voters Matter Fund , on how North Carolina policies are shaping healthcare access — from maternal and child health to insurance coverage — while also enjoying live entertainment from Bubba James, local resources, and fellowship.

Join us for Off the Page ✨

An intergenerational political education and cultural collective for Black community members across Wake, Durham, and Johnston counties. Together, we’ll explore essays, poetry, speeches, music, and visual art from Black leaders and grassroots organizers while building community, sharpening our political lens, and deepening our understanding of what it means to organize and build power together.

This year’s themes:
✊🏾 Q2: Liberation — what does liberation actually mean for us?
🖤 Q3: Identity, Culture & Resistance
🔥 Q4: Action, Power & Community

Come learn, reflect, connect, and imagine together.

Pulled up on the fellas at Durham Nativity. Real thoughtful young men. They’re too promising for us not to handle business at the polls so they can stay on their good paths.

👨‍⚖️👨‍⚖️👨‍⚖️👨‍⚖️👩‍⚖️👨🏿‍⚖️ The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais was another reminder that attacks on OUR voting power are very real. 😡

🤔🗳️ What we can do is push back against gerrymandering with overwhelming turnout at the polls.

💡 Stay engaged at ncblackalliance.org.
