ate’s “AAA” bond rating, and provide exemplary service across all divisions of the Department. Our vision is to sustain and advance the performance and efficiency of the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, always focusing on our loyalty and duty of care to participants. As of 2017, the Department of State Treasurer administers the NC ABLE Program, which allows eligible individuals to save and fund a variety of qualified disability expenses without endangering eligibility for certain benefits that are critical to their health and well-being, such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income. The Department of the State Treasurer is made up of approximately 400 employees, and is composed of the following divisions:
