As a family lawyer and child welfare advocate, she fights every day for families across Wake County who are worried about their future. Whether stressed about sending their kids to a good public school, paying back their student loans, or affording quality health care and finding a good, well-paying job, too many people feel the deck is stacked against them. Despite these struggles, Sydney has obs

erved that many common values bind us. People want affordable, accessible health care, quality and affordable education, safe air to breathe, clean water to drink, and a fair paycheck. Most of all, they want their children to live a more prosperous life than they have. Sydney decided to run because she wants to make a difference for those people who feel stressed and work with them through our common shared values to make a better Wake County. There's no doubt that the challenges facing us are great. However, so is our will. She humbly asks for your support.

This Women’s History Month, I’m reflecting on the truth that women have always led, even when they weren’t invited into the room.�From Ann Atwater to Sarah Keys Evans to Harriet Morehead Berry, their courage shaped the North Carolina we know today.Now it’s on us to keep pushing doors open to ensure the next generation doesn’t have to fight as hard to be heard.
We don’t need to ask if women can lead. We already do.�The question is: will we make space for more of us to lead?

I was grateful to spend this past Sunday in Chapel Hill with Team Up NC. We are so lucky to have hardworking people behind this organization as we collectively work to build power in the General Assembly. We are all ready to win this November!

I had the opportunity to visit Carolina Panthers stadium and meet with team leadership to discuss their exciting vision for the future. From major renovations to an impressive lineup of sporting events and concerts, they are working to transform the stadium into a premier entertainment destination for the city!

This past Thursday in Charlotte, I met with leaders from the Urban League of Central Carolinas for a great conversation about our workforce, housing, and new economic opportunities for the people of our state . As North Carolina continues to grow, it’s important than ever to listen to the experiences of the communities most affected by that growth, and to make sure the opportunities coming from that growth is reaching regular people where they are.
