Raleigh Rescue Mission

Raleigh Rescue Mission Since 1961, Raleigh Rescue Mission has brought the hope of Jesus Christ to individuals who are experiencing homelessness and who are hurting in our community.

Raleigh Rescue Mission is a Christian organization that helps rebuild the lives of men, women, and children in our community who are currently experiencing situational homelessness by ministering to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. riencing situational homelessness by ministering to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. While at the Mission, the clients receive safe shelter; nourishing meals; access to counseling; and educational, vocational, and life skill classes. Those in recovery from substance use disorder have access to support meetings and sponsors. Children in our on-site Children's Development Center receive educational services as well as tutoring and access to professional therapeutic services to help them on their journey to recovery. At Raleigh Rescue Mission, lives are changed and hope is restored.

“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Single mothers carry enormous responsibility—emotionally, spiritually, financially, and mentally. In the middle of caring for children and healing from personal struggles or disappointments, it can be easy to isolate.

When The Garden opens, single women and single mothers will find comfort, guidance, and spiritual encouragement in solidarity.

And at Raleigh Rescue Mission's Hargett Street campus, men will find more ease and accountability in faith-based brotherhood.

Two campuses offering community, emotional wisdom, and healthy support systems—necessities for strength, healing, growth, and ultimately, independence.

Providing three meals a day for individuals who come through our doors requires a steady supply of food.

Right now, we are especially in need of key items like bread, proteins, snack items, and fresh produce.

Your support helps ensure that every person who comes to Raleigh Rescue Mission receives consistent, nutritious meals while moving forward.

Spring Training at Raleigh Rescue Mission!

Staff development is a high priority. One of our core values is to develop each other to fully live out our God-given purpose. With intentional, on-going training, we build and support individual growth, foster teamwork and collaboration, and enhance the quality of care we give our clients. And, besides, it’s fun to learn and to grow together!

What fun at Knightdale, NC's first Pickin’ in the Park!

Our heartfelt gratitude to Christopher Prieto of PRIME Barbecue for his vision and generous support for our mission. To all the partners, vendors, musicians, patrons, and the Town of Knightdale—thank you for a wonderful event and your support for The Garden!

We hope you picked up a green “fanbee” to use this summer—to send soaring across a field or to wave away the heat. If you stopped by our table, we enjoyed meeting you! We look forward to more joyful opportunities for community engagement!

Graduates of the Jobs for Life program begin a new chapter!

Having honed their job-readiness skills, composed a resumé, and practiced for the interview, these clients have begun to apply for jobs. Some secure employment even before their graduation dates! We celebrate their achievements and pray God grants protection and favor as they work to build a new life.

Join the celebration! Be a mentor! Find more information at raleighrescue.org.

When someone walks through our doors, the goal is not just short-term relief.

It’s a clear path forward.

The New Life Plan provides a step-by-step process that begins with meeting immediate needs and continues through skill development, employment, and ultimately independent living.

Each phase builds on the last, helping clients move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Thank you for helping make that possible.

Psychologists say that hope has two parts:

1. A desired future
2. A path toward it

We have one mission: to transform lives from homelessness into hope and stability. With the New Life Plan and the Christ-centered Jobs for Life program, our clients are empowered with skills for self-sufficient, independent living. In this place, a person can “let go of the pride. Let go of the fear. Take 6 – 9 months. And…see a difference.”

The Growing Place, our children’s learning center, celebrated Mother’s Day with a picnic! Special treats included fresh flowers, yummy foods, quotes from the children, and notes from the staff.

Thank you for your kind donations that show our moms they are valued and loved.

One of the most encouraging moments is seeing someone who has completed the New Life Plan return to encourage others.

One of our former clients now works with us part-time while continuing to build a stable life of his own. He shows up for those currently in the program, speaking honestly, offering encouragement, and reminding them that change is possible.

Stories like his remind us that better choices don't just improve your life–they help shape a better future for others.

Real change starts beneath the surface.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that healing involves more than physical needs.

Many who come through Raleigh Rescue Mission have experienced trauma that affects how they respond to challenges, build relationships, and move forward. Experiences like loss, separation, and instability leave lasting impact.

That’s why care begins with creating a safe, consistent environment and walking alongside each person with understanding and support.

Through trauma-informed care, daily structure, and access to counseling, clients are able to take meaningful steps toward stability.

Thank you for being part of a mission that supports lasting change, both seen and unseen.
