I wish more people knew sexual assault acts are not always committed by strangers.

I was molested for years, starting around middle school. I knew the person. I chose not to say anything because I was afraid. What would it mean? How do I respond in social settings when he is around? The fact that I knew him made things even more confusing for me as a child.

Statistics Show:

More than half (51.1%) of female victims of r**e reported being r**ed by an intimate partner and 40.8% by an acquaintance; for male victims, more than half (52.4%) reported being r**ed by an acquaintance and 15.1% by a stranger.

"I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for all of the
support, guidance, and care you extended to me during a very difficult
time in my life. Your assistance through the North Carolina Coalition
Against Sexual Assault made a meaningful difference, and I am truly
grateful for the role you played in helping me move forward. I’m
pleased to share that things are going very well for me now. I
recently opened a ....business, and it has been progressing
successfully. This new chapter has given me both stability and
perspective..." - Marc
