📣 Join us for a Johnston County Virtual Table!
Let’s come together for an evening of education, conversation, and community as we unpack the constitutional amendments appearing on our ballots this fall. 🗳️

We’ll break down what each amendment means, explore how they could impact our communities, and talk about why these decisions matter.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jovita Lee Miller, who will share insight and context to help voters feel informed and prepared before Election Day.

We’re just under 90 days until the general election, and the administration is still trying to force the SAVE Act on us. This is not business as usual, and we cannot afford to look away.

Don’t be fooled by headlines that make it seem like regular political-ish. Every action taken against our rights and communities moves us further away from the ideals that make American democracy supposedly great.

Mid-decade gerrymandering. Erasure of Black political power. And rollbacks on anti-discrimination policies and segregation-era consent decrees. This administration and its allies have made it clear they will not be satisfied until they have absolute power and control over everything and everyone.

But all is not lost. We know that organized people have always been the antidote to extremist abuse of power. We’ve seen it in history countless times. It’s probably why they don’t want us to know what has happened.

Now more than ever, we need to be locked in and stay informed about what’s happening and what can be done. These next few months will fly by. And Nov. 3 will be here before we know it.

So tell us, how are you showing up for community between now and the general election?

The New Orleans Massacre was never really about one march. It was about a simple question: who gets to vote, and who controls the rules?

160 years later, that question is on the floor in Raleigh — this week. New laws would cut early voting by more than half, add hurdles to counting ballots, and hand partisan appointees control over the boards that run our elections. The mob has traded muskets for bills. But the target hasn’t changed.

The marchers of 1866 didn’t stop. Neither do we. Our right to vote, and to count every vote, is worth defending.

Advance Carolina is in this fight.
