This past week we had the honor of presenting to the Ministerial Alliance in the Northeast Region on the importance of voter engagement and civic participation. We shared practical strategies for increasing voter involvement, discussed the vital role local churches can play in educating and empowering their communities, and highlighted key considerations as we enter a crucial election season. We’re grateful for the opportunity to equip and engage leaders who are making an impact where it matters most.

We want real solutions, not political games.

Thank you Rep. Pittman and Rep. Pierce for standing up for our communities, essential services, and local control. North Carolinians deserve real investment in our schools, law enforcement, libraries, parks, roads, fire departments, and the services our communities rely on every day.

As we reflect on the birthday of El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, better known to many as Malcolm X, we’re reminded of his clear call for building independent Black political power. Whether 1964 or 2026, his provocation about the ballot or the bullet isn't a threat.

It's about the choice we must make in how we move forward.

🗣️ "Anyone south of the Canadian border lives in the South."

Translation: There's no running from this fight.

The voter suppression and political games we face in North Carolina?

Congressional hearings are using Callais as a justification to roll back our rights. The current administration’s extremist power grabs.

It's all the SAME SYSTEM.

Malcolm's challenge remains:

What do we do when the system won't honor our votes?
When democracy is a promise, they keep breaking?

We build power they can't ignore.

Advance Carolina honors Malcolm X by doing the work of accountability, not appeasement.

We build Black political power that can't be gerrymandered, suppressed, or bought.

This is electoral justice. We honor his legacy by building power. Join us at AdvanceCarolina.org

📢 .blagrove was in these streets guest lecturing during a sidewalk seminar organized by . Some of the teaching was about overcoming racialized voting maps that keep Black people from having a legitimate shot at getting their preferred candidates in office.

📝 Professor Dawn also assigned homework to every Black person in North Carolina. She wants to know what we’re going to do to offset the U.S. Supreme Court’s very consequential cheap shot on the Voting Rights Act. You can turn in your homework in the comments section.
