We feed our neighbors, teach self-sufficiency, and grow healthy foods by cultivating innovative approaches to end hunger. Our programs provide our neighbors with healthy food, teach nutrition on a budget, equip them with job training, and even show how to grow their own food. In this way, people are able to move themselves out of hunger.

Today on World Hunger Day, we are reminded that hunger is not just a global crisis. It is happening in our own communities every single day. Food is a human right, yet far too many individuals and families are forced to make impossible choices between groceries, housing, healthcare, and other basic needs.

At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, our work goes beyond meeting the immediate need for food. Through our programs, partnerships, and community-driven solutions, we are working to break down the systemic barriers that keep people from long-term self sustainability and food security.

Ending hunger takes all of us. Together, we can build a future where everyone has consistent access to nutritious food and the opportunity to thrive.

A very happy birthday to Warren Shaw, one of the first core volunteers at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle who contributed over 25 years of service to our mission. As a volunteer, he assisted with food recovery and distribution multiple times per week, resulting in hundreds of volunteer hours per year. Join us in celebrating Mr. Warren and his milestone 100th birthday!

Looking ahead, summer meal shifts are coming up and we need your help!

This summer, in partnership with community organizations, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will continue providing healthy meals to children and teens while school is out. Volunteers are a critical part of making this program possible, and we could not do it without your support.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help deliver summer meals throughout Wake County. Volunteers must have access to their own vehicle for deliveries. Make a meaningful impact in your community this summer!

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Clarence Williams — a longtime supporter, advocate, veteran, mentor, and community champion.

Clarence believed deeply in showing up for his neighbors, and his kindness, generosity, and commitment to service left a lasting impact on so many across our community. We are grateful for the many ways he supported Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and helped amplify the importance of caring for one another.

Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of compassion and community service will not be forgotten.

Thanks to the generous support from The TJX Foundation, our work across Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is continuing its impact throughout our community. These general funds give us the flexibility to respond where the need is greatest and continue to meet the demand as it rises. This partnership helps sustain both our day-to-day operations and our long-term vision of a stronger, healthier community. We are truly grateful to The TJX Foundation for investing in our mission and standing with us in the fight against hunger.

To share their appreciation for everyone that makes Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's mission possible, students at Oberlin Magnet Middle School created some special thank you cards featuring their favorite foods! We chose three of our favorites to demonstrate the creativity and thoughtfulness put into each one.

To Jada, Cannady, Alex, and all the students who participated, thank you for your hard work and compassion! We're so excited for our community to see your talent in action.
