We know lots of changes are happening right now in everyone’s life that can cause quite a bit of stress. Our team as made a list of 7 things that we think will help make working from home a little easier:

1. Make a routine.
2. Get up and get dressed like it a normal day.
3. Don’t work in your bed.
4. Eat healthy.
5. Move! Do yoga, go for a run or walk, get some fresh air.
6. Limit information intake, cut down on social media time.
7. Get creative or read a book.

Let us know if these tips help! Also leave your own working from home tips in the comments or just an encouraging word for everyone during this difficult time.

❌❌❌We regret to inform you that SNCAE spring conference is cancelled for March 20&21 and are sorry for any inconveniences this May cause. This was not a decision that was made lightly, but due to the Corona virus we, as an executive board, felt this was the best decision for us at this time. We will still be holding elections and will send out more information on that as it becomes available. ❌❌❌

Thank you to all who made Outreach to Teach possible this year!

The Student North Carolina Association of Educators (SNCAE) participated in their annual Outreach to Teach program today. Students from across the state came to Ashley Elementary in Fayetteville and remodeled the teachers lounge and created a mindfulness room and redesigned the meeting room. Landscaping was also done in a common area between classroom buildings. No doubt the students and staff will be excited to see the new features on Monday morning!

Don't manage your classroom!

The symptoms of the adverse experiences our students face can sometimes go unseen—but will show up in other ways like acting out, difficulty following directions, a lack of concentration, and overall frustration.

We may never fully grasp the things, from outside our school, that impact our students learning, but we can do our best to manage these behaviors by creating a positive learning environment. Join us tomorrow night as we share tips to help you create a positive learning environment in your classroom!

We'll share strategies and resources you can implement immediately that will change your classroom environment and the attitudes of your students that are counterproductive to learning.

Now that we have completed NCAE elections, please join us in making sure that we ensure safe + democratic elections take place this fall. We ask that everyone take a few minutes to make sure that you fill out this public comment form to support the option of mail-in ballots in the Fall 2020 elections. We are hearing that those who are agitating to re-open NC against the wishes of the majority of people in our state and against all public health guidelines are also flooding the public comments with opposition to mail-in voting. Please don't let a misguided few impact our ability to participate safely in democratic decision-making. All you have to do is click on the link, fill in your info and and type “In favor of the rule change." We have until 1pm to submit comments to the State Board of Elections:
Hi friends! 2018 was a result of all the calls, knocks at the doors, and meetings we attended. We helped elect the most diverse group of candidates in history. Let's capitalize and build on that progress by helping our newly elected candidates pass gun-violence prevention legislation. Come find out how you can help save lives from gun violence with #HR8! https://www.facebook.com/events/381830169271651/
