We know so many of you have put the brakes on your holiday travel plans, so we're wanting to make sure and get the word out that everybody is invited to come and pick up a Thanksgiving Feast with all the trimmings prepared and served hot just for you. We've adjusted our protocols to meet the health needs of our wider community and still be able to serve our neighbors facing food insecurity. And we're doing it in a way that makes the safety and health of our guests, volunteers and staff priority number one!

And thanks to Bishop Curry, now the whole world knows!

As part of our response to the current health crisis related to the novel coronavirus and COVID-19, The Shepherd's Table will be closed today and tomorrow to allow us to take necessary precautions enabling us to continue serving our neighbors in the safest manner possible.

We will reopen on Wednesday to begin distributing bag lunches.

Right behind our commitment to making sure our neighbors don't go hungry, our commitment to their safety and health as well as that of our staff and volunteers is our priority. Many thanks to all of you who have undertaken this mission with us over the last 40 years and who will continue working with us during these uncertain times and long after we emerge from them.

We offer holiday cards that speak to the heart of giving to those in need. A holiday card can be purchased for a minimum donation of $10.00 per card and sent to you for your gift-giving needs. The card acknowledges that a donation has been made to our kitchen in honor of the person you write on the card. This shows them the true meaning of giving and helping others out when they are in need. Cards are available from December 5-18th. We’ve gone international! The Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina dropped by our kitchen today with a group of pilgrims from the companion Diocese of Botswana. They sat down and shared a meal with our downtown neighbors before moving on to the next destination on their tightly packed itinerary.

You, too, are always welcome to come share a meal with our neighbors. All are welcome in our kitchen. No questions asked. Come see what we’re all about!
