Honored to attend the North Carolina Manufactured & Modular Homebuilders Association (NCMHA) 2026 Annual Meeting, where an exciting new partnership was announced to support training and safety across North Carolina’s manufactured housing industry.

NCMHA is partnering with OSFM to provide manufactured homes to the Emergency Training Center. The new training units will be used for hands-on training for manufacturers, industry partners, inspectors, installation contractors, and transporters from across the state.

Expected to be completed by January 2027, the addition will strengthen training opportunities and help enhance safety, code compliance, and professionalism throughout the industry.

Thank you to NCMHA and Executive Director Brad Lovin for their partnership and continued commitment to advancing safety and education in North Carolina!

"How Not to Build a Deck" was the topic of a recent presentation by our Chief Residential Code Consultant, Robert Key. Robert walked local code officials and contractors through common mistakes that are made during the construction process, and cited the codes that help prevent these mistakes. Building a deck according to the codes will help give homeowners a safer and longer lasting deck to enjoy for many years.
A special thank you to the Town of Chapel Hill and the NC Home Builders Association for hosting this session and allowing OSFM Engineering to be a part of it.

Fire danger is high, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Fires can start almost immediately and easily from all causes. Fires can spread rapidly and intensify quickly. Spot fires can be a constant danger.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
