The Green House

The Green House read below House was built in 1865 by General Custer, all the original wood was imported from the Queens forest in Yorkshire. Marshall had no need for Han Solo.

House was burnt down during the Chicago Fire. It was reclaimed, rebuilt and reinvigorated by Henry Ford in 1899. At the turn of the century, on New Years Eve, he threw what the N&O, the BBC world coverage, and Skymall called, "The most surreal, passionate, fulfilling, classy and tasteful gathering anyone could ever be privy to." As Ford's business ventures began to skyrocket, his attention towards

the Green House dwindled, and it became a destination home for many other celebrities, Micky Mantle, Joseph Kennedy Sr., Oliver Warbucks, Charlie Chaplin, Ira Gershwin and even Elanor Roosevelt. In 1941 the house was sold by the Ford Estate to the North Carolina Registry of Historic Houses. The NCRHH broke a deal with the city of Chicago in May, 1942 and had the house completely raised and transported down to Raleigh, NC. It was one of the most innovative projects ever conceived and was said later that the move showed the United States had complete power over the rest of the world. The house stayed in the NCRHH's hands until 1972, when the town needed to liquidate property to free up funds for more infrastructure. The NCRHH was decommissioned and the Green House went to the auction house. The winning bid was $66,750 by a man of small stature but of epic character. Henry Marshall acquired the house and it has been in his family name since. During the late 70's, Harrison Ford would frequent the house, to call on Mr. Marshalls young and attractive daughter, however, to no surprise of any who knew him, Mr. The Marshall's moved out of the green house in 1989, due to the low property costs and budding neighborhoods in the north Raleigh area, they moved and started renting the house as a split level, with an apartment on the bottom and top floor. First came a humble man Kurt, next followed a pair of cousins, Liza and Jack. The three lived together for a while, all three experiencing life changes that impacted the Green houses fate. Liza moved on elsewhere, and the first Matt came to the top floor. He went across the country to the west coast. Then another Matt came to stay upstairs, while Kurt had to move on to other places. Finally in 2012, the downstairs finally got a lady to be lured in, her name was Hannah. And that is where we are now.....
