Trial Court Administrator Kellie Myers has been recognized by the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism (CJCP) with the 2026 Court Managers Award. The presentation was made today in Wilmington. The award recognizes courthouse personnel who exhibit the highest level of professionalism in service to their communities.

“Kellie’s exceptional work as a trial court administrator has gained her the respect of the judicial community throughout North Carolina,” said Chief Justice Paul Newby. “Professionalism is about going above and beyond in your everyday work. Every day, Kellie delivers excellent customer service with the highest degree of skill and integrity. She is truly an asset to the Judicial Branch."

Myers has served as the Trial Court Administrator for the Tenth Judicial District (Wake County) since 2014, guiding one of the busiest judicial districts in the state with exceptional professionalism and innovation. Previously she served at the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts as a statewide Case Management Specialist, concentrating in critical areas including domestic volence and language access.

"The Judicial Branch is blessed to have people like Kellie as a vital member of the Judicial Branch,” said CJCP Executive Director Jimbo Perry. “This recognition is well-deserved.”

Bladen County Assistant Criminal Clerk Monica Wilkins has been named the recipient of the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism (CJCP) Annual Clerk of the Year Award.
Chief Justice Paul Newby selected Wilkins for the honor from nominations submitted by elected clerks of superior court from across North Carolina.
Wilkins received the award from CJCP Executive Director James “Jimbo” Perry and North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts Director Ryan Boyce.

The Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism presented its 2025 awards to Five recipients during its annual awards dinner Wednesday, January 21, 2026. This award is presented annually to an individual or individuals whose contributions have demonstrated the highest commitment to genuine professionalism and the highest standards of legal ethics. The award is presented in cooperation with the N.C. State Bar and N.C. Bar Association.

The recipients for 2025 are Robert E. Harrington, Darrin D. Jordan, Allison Mullins, and Hon. Michael L. Robinson. James “Jimbo” Perry was honored with the inaugural Melvin Wright, Jr. Peacemaker Award for his "steadfast dedication to seeking peace and collegiality among the legal community in North Carolina."

The Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism celebrated the 200th anniversary of the historic Perquimans County Courthouse in Hertford last week. The meeting included a roundtable discussion of "Professionalism in the 1st District Bar," Chief Justice Paul Newby speaking on "North Carolina’s Original Copy of the Bill of Rights: A Lawyer’s Dream or Nightmare?" and "200th Anniversary of the Perquimans County Courthouse: Historic Commemoration" with retired Superior Court Judge J. Carlton Cole.
