Our Southeastern NC Regional Meeting took us to the lovely town of Southport, NC with host clerk, The Honorable Katie Madon, Brunswick County Clerk of Court providing a great spot downtown to have the meeting and eat while discussing important business! We will be in her neighboring county of New Hanover next month with the Honorable Jan Kennedy hosting our Summer Conference.

On July 16, the Conference held our Central Regional meeting in Asheboro. We were treated to a great hosted luncheon by The Honorable Randolph CSC Pam Hill after our business concluded.

The Conference has been traveling through Western NC the past week for 3rd Quarter regional meetings hosted by The Honorable Jeff Haynes, Haywood CSC and The Honorable Angela Ashley Kidd, Caldwell CSC. We discussed the state budget, our upcoming educational conference and staffing needs among other technology topics. (Conference Director added some nostalgia going by the Stompin Grounds in Maggie Valley where she used to clog). Next up, Central followed by an executive meeting and ecourts workgroup then the Eastern counties next week.

It was a busy day at the . Thanks to all the elected clerks who joined us, members who came and spoke to us and judicial branch staff and leadership who popped over to say hello.

Thanks to the North Carolina Judicial Branch for continuing to support our Elected Clerks in their role as probate judges in NC. We are receiving national recognition for the good work being done thanks to those like Orange County CSC Mark Kleinschmidt.

Kleinschmidt has served as Orange County Clerk of Superior Court since 2018.

New Hanover County CSC Jan Kennedy leads our Comptroller Clerks Committee and subcommittee meetings this year. They are currently going through all the reports in ecourts, reviewing their names, what each does, how frequently they are reviewed, etc. The group will meet again later this month.
