North Carolina Triangle DSA is a chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America🌹, the largest socialist organization in the USA. We organize to build worker power and for leftist change in the Triangle: Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill/Carrboro. At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. As we are unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow,

DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people. For example, we support reforms that:

* decrease the influence of money in politics
* empower ordinary people in workplaces and the economy
* restructure gender and cultural relationships to be more equitable

We are activists committed to democracy as not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism — a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society. 🌹

Show up for the Durham community with us to demand the removal of fake clinics like Gateway Women’s Care. Did you know these centers are funded by redirecting taxpayers’ money away from legitimate sources of care like community health clinics and r**e crisis centers ($20 million to be exact)? Hear it from the state representative pushing back: Rep Julie von Haefen. She will be on site at our picket to tell us more about a bill she is introducing to oppose state funding for anti-abortion centers.

Another abortion care kit party for the BOOKS 🩷 Last month the Abort Fake Clinics campaign collaborated with several reproductive justice organizations to deliver reproductive mutual aid to the triangle.

The lack of access to care in our communities drives people to these crisis pregnancy centers (fake clinics) for things like free pregnancy tests. Our campaign works to put that and more into the hands of people seeking care, disrupting the demand for AAC services.

Reproductive justice is about not only choice, but access- we won’t stop until we have both 💪

Have you been looking for ways to stand in solidarity with Cuba? Well, we’ll do you one better- we’re going to ✨ DANCE ✨ in solidarity with Cuba at The Pinhook on Tues, April 14th! Join for a salsa, bachata, and cumbia dance lesson from 7 to 7:30pm. From 7:30 on, it’ll be an open dance floor with DJ Sifi! spinning some Latin dance favorites. Your $10-$20 sliding scale cover will support a fundraiser to purchase and ship medical supplies to Cuba organized by DSA International. And stay tuned for a raffle prize reveal from some local artists and vendors👀 RSVP in bio!!

Abort Fake Clinics and Triangle Abortion Access Coalition (TAAC) are teaming up, Saturday 4/4 in the fight for reproductive access in the Triangle.

Our Care Kit Party & Fundraiser, will have tons of mutual aid activities- assembling abortion care kits, making graphic t-shirts, a silent auction for local artwork, and a mini market featuring art from our community. Email Gr**[email protected] to join us as a vendor! Allied orgs in the reproductive justice movement will be tabling and have information on ways we can all get involved further in the fight!

Our kits will be distributed locally in the Durham community to indie abortion clinics and mutual aid hubs. Donations from this event will benefit Carolina Abortion Fund (CAF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support to those seeking abortion. Bring your friends, donations, and best leather boots 🤘
