Happy teacher appreciation week!! ✏️🎓🍎 At the Capitol, we are grateful for teachers today and everyday!! From field trip groups to educational programs, we love working with North Carolina’s teachers. We are especially appreciative for some of the former teachers who now serve as docents for tour groups at the Capitol. Sue Cook and Melanie Franklin, pictured here, spent decades in the classroom- and now continue to teach history to groups across the state!!

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our docents for their invaluable contributions. Some of our docents have dedicated over ten years to this cause, guiding numerous groups and sharing the rich history of North Carolina with every visitor. The North Carolina State Capitol tour program would not be possible without the commitment of our volunteers.
