WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed outdoors at a shopping center with exposure to inclement weather. Moderate physical demands; strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to ten (10) pounds; may be exposed to safety hazards such as moving vehicles and distracted drivers.

JOB OVERVIEW
Work with teams of officers to ensure that automobiles move efficiently through the shopping center parking lot. Create a safe zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of pedestrians. This involves setting up cones and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as using hand signals and flashlights to specifically direct them. Traffic Control Officers often work in conjunction with other officers, with each standing at opposite ends of the public vehicular area and coordinating traffic flow via communication, either via two-way radio or hand signals.

Traffic Control Officers have the responsibility for directing the actions of the motoring and pedestrian traffic for their safety and the safety of other patrons at the shopping center.

Twenty years ago, the world as we knew it changed on 9/11. For those who lived through that day, the feelings of fear, pain, and anger will never be forgotten. Every September 11th since, we remember the acts of bravery and sheer determination that followed.
There are amazing stories of true courage, sacrifice, and commitment to preserving life, honor the fallen and defending our Nation and our American way of life. These stories inspired thousands of Americans to raise their right hand, and say "send me" during a time of war.
On this 9/11, we pay tribute to those who served, especially those who gave all, in defense of our Nation. We remember the Gold Star Families and honor them for their commitment and their sacrifice.
It is an honor to serve among heroes like you.

It is disheartening that since posting this article almost 3 years ago that things have continued to become more violent in our society.
As a law enforcement and security expert I recommend that everyone take time to make a plan and preparations in case they become a victim of crime.
