We were greatly saddened to hear that Edith Cesar died on 5th December 2019. During the month of August 1997, Edith and her daughter Anna were responsible for applying the gold gilding on the walls of the mansion ballroom. Here is a picture of Edith sitting on the south porch, along with a picture or two of their first class gold gilding.
Everyone at the mansion sends their sincerest condolences to Anna and the family.

took my daughter by the mansion today after visiting the capitol. she was very excited. here is a summary of our conversation: her: why can't we go in? me: we'll have to set up a tour with them. we can't just go in whenever we want. later, as we are leaving- her: i know! we can get a van and hide and then we can get in. ... me: are you talking about sneaking into the governor's mansion scooby doo style? her: YES! me: (laughing hysterically) we can NOT do that! 😂😂😂 we'll try to get a tour together soon! are there any open tours around the holidays?
