SAVE OUR SCHOOL
For 20 years, Torchlight Academy has been a Black-operated charter school that has been educating predominantly Black and Hispanic children, most of whom are below the poverty index. Torchlight achieved the highest growth in math and reading in the state and earned “Exceeded Growth” in math and reading each year after. The state just voted to close Torchlight rather than offering technical assistance to perfect non-academic areas which need improvement. Please sign this petition to help Torchlight stay open.

In the pictures are Samsung Galaxy Tab A , IPEVO Interactive whiteboard systems (can turn any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard), classroom laminator and students individual two-sided whiteboards.” Torchlight Academy teacher Mrs. Thomas received exciting items for her students!!

✨Graduate Highlight recognized at the 25th Anniversary of NC Charter Schools 👩🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍💻

Former Student Hasana attended Torchlight Academy. She is now a rising junior pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Hasana credits her charter school teachers with instilling a love of foreign languages—Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese—as well as a love of math and reading.

North Carolina Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the North Carolina Charter Law.

It was especially wonderful to see all of the current students from Torchlight Academy!
