Behind every nonprofit is a story worth sharing.

When Ms. Toni Savage, Founder & President of Family Childcare and Center Enrichment Foundation-FCCEF, connected with our membership director, she was excited to share her organization’s story.

Stories like Ms. Toni’s reflect the heart of the nonprofit sector – passion, vision, and a deep commitment to community. Across North Carolina, nonprofits are making a difference in ways that go beyond what we see but are deeply felt.

🔗 Take a closer look at the work behind FCCEF’s mission: https://ncnonprofits.org/blog/behind-mission-family-child-care-center-enrichment-foundation

Family Child Care & Center Enrichment Foundation (FCCEF) exists to strengthen educators, stabilize families, and build resilient communities through advocacy, professional development, financial literacy, wellness, and emergency support.

They show up in the places where resources are scarce, technology is limited, and funding is inequitable – because that is where educators need them most.

We're still reflecting on our time in Asheville last week at Building Resilient Futures: Leading, Funding, Innovating for Impact - feeling energized by the strong sense of community and shared purpose that came through.

It truly was what we envisioned: a day of learning and connection among nonprofit leaders, funders, and partners. And the feedback makes one thing clear: these spaces matter!

The folks who attended highlighted the value of coming together across roles and perspectives.

A standout moment for many was the local funder panel with Dogwood Health Trust, The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, and WNC Bridge Foundation offering real-time insight into funding priorities and trends.

Just as meaningful was the opportunity to connect with peers navigating similar challenges - one participant noting that this event “happened at just the right time… it was refreshing to meet with peers and learn together.”

We also heard a clear ask: more practical, scalable strategies around sustainability, partnerships, and new approaches to funding.

We're looking forward to continuing this conversation as we travel across the state with the next stops in Wilmington, Charlotte, and Greensboro.

If you weren't able to join us last week, check out the upcoming dates/locations and join us at the next event nearby (link in comments).

Thanks to our event partner Duke Energy Foundation and host UNC Asheville.
