At the Triangle Regional Food Gathering, America and Glenda from Pupusas 4 Education shared “what’s cooking” in their region — and one thing stood out most: the power of bringing people together across every part of the food system. 🌱

They spoke about the importance of seeing Latin community members and entrepreneurs represented in these spaces, especially because they are such a vital part of the region’s food system, yet may not always feel invited, informed, or included in opportunities like this.

They expressed gratitude for the language inclusivity, community connection, and intentional efforts to help bridge those gaps and create spaces where more voices can be heard and welcomed. 💛

Nearly 1.3 million North Carolinians rely on SNAP each month to put food on the table — including children, seniors, veterans, and people working hard to make ends meet.

Right now, proposed federal and state budget decisions could cut or weaken this critical program. NC lawmakers have a choice: protect food assistance for families, or prioritize tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.

Every SNAP dollar spent generates up to $1.80 in local economic activity — keeping grocery stores open, supporting jobs, and strengthening communities across our state.

Our Project Partners, NCBTC, put together some key talking points to help you speak up for SNAP in your community. Swipe through for quick reference — and share with anyone who needs it.
