This past weekend, Ralston Fire & Rescue responded to a medical emergency involving an injured individual located in the creek along the Ralston Trail.
Upon arrival, Ralston PD & Ralston Fire & Rescue located the patient, provided medical care, and packaged the patient for removal from the creek. Due to the patient's location and the steep & rugged terrain surrounding the area, additional resources were needed to safely extricate both the patient and responders.
A mutual aid request was made to Papillion Fire for technical rescue. Personnel responded and assisted with establishing a low angle haul system, allowing for the safe removal of the patient from the creek.
Through the teamwork, training, and professionalism of all agencies involved, the patient was successfully extricated without incident.
Over the weekend, Papillion Fire responded to a mutual aid request by Ralston Fire & Rescue Inc. for a technical rope rescue. Incidents like these highlight the importance of maintaining specialized rescue capabilities throughout our region!
