Our District proudly participated in the 35th Annual North County Water Agencies Water Awareness Poster Contest with this year’s theme: “Love Water, Save Water.”
On May 19, the students were recognized by the RWMD Board of Directors—Jim Hickle, Jim Piva, Jacob Zoria, and Casey Lynch—with certificates and baskets of goodies. 🎉👏💧✨ Congratulations to our amazing student winners: L to R

Thrilled to be part of Barona's special historical moment, 94 years in the making! This project benefits both communities. Water provided to Barona helps the Tribe with their ongoing issue of limited groundwater on the reservation. Water purchases from Barona help make up lost revenue helping to stabilize local water rates.

💧Helping Keep Our Community’s Water Flowing Strong

We wanted to share an update about upcoming water line construction planned for this year. The District has recently awarded two projects that will improve reliability and replace aging infrastructure along Highway 78. The map shows where work will take place.

🚧 Project 1 – New 8‑Inch Waterline
This project will install a new 8‑inch waterline on the south side of Highway 78 to replace a line that was washed out about 20 years ago. Right now, customers east of Hatfield Creek rely on a single waterline—this new line will provide added reliability and backup service.

Work will mainly stay in the shoulder, though temporary closures of the south lane may be needed
🗓 Construction timeline: June–December 2026

🚧 Project 2 – New 16‑Inch Waterline
We’ll also be replacing an older 14‑inch steel waterline along Highway 78 between Main Street and Haverford Road. This line dates back to 1957 and has reached the end of its useful life. The new 16‑inch pipeline will help ensure reliable service for years to come.

Traffic may be reduced to one lane on weekdays during daylight hours
