For those who were planning a trip out there this week, closed indefinitely. If you are curious why, they are using the same reason for most of the city parks/beaches, i.e. people cannot seem to stop clustering. "The response team transported Joey to Animal Urgent Care in Escondido, where he was treated for heat exhaustion and separating pads. Luckily, Joey responded well to the treatment and was able to return home."

Half a mile down the trail, the dog named Joey collapsed and started panting heavily, a sign of heatstroke.

Just an FYI for anyone heading out that way.

Deputies and firefighters came to the rescue Friday when five family members were overcome by heat exhaustion during a sweltering afternoon hike on Cedar Creek Falls Trail in eastern San Diego County.
