Move over, Judge Judy. The AIG classroom just took fairy tales to court!

The Coleridge AIG students used the Depth and Complexity framework to dive deep into classic fairy tales examining multiple perspectives, uncovering hidden patterns, and analyzing the ethics of characters. The culmination was a mock trial in which students took on courtroom roles such as judge, bailiff, attorney, witness, etc. The arguments were fierce, the evidence was compelling, and the verdicts were... surprising!

🎄🔍 A little holiday mystery in AIG today! 🔍🎄

The third grade AIG students participated in a fun and festive whodunit called “The Toy Shop Thief.” Students became detectives as they worked through clues, made inferences, and examined each suspect’s motive and alibi to determine who sabotaged Christmas and took all the gifts!

I love watching their critical thinking shine—our young investigators were fully engaged and worked together brilliantly. 🕵️‍♂️🎁✨

Our 4th and 5th grade AIG students took on the role of young inventors today, presenting their creative inventions in true Shark Tank style! From innovative ideas to confident pitches, these students impressed our “sharks” with their creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial spirit. We’re so proud of their hard work and imagination! 👏✨

3rd-5th grade AIG students worked collaboratively on convergent thinking puzzles to build critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Flood drill…. April Fools! 😂 Conversations after the fake drill were great - students used logic and critical thinking skills to determine that my fake drill would not work well in the event of a real flood.

March Mathness with the 24 Game narrowed down to two finalists this week. Fifth graders, Hayley and Malori, competed for first place! Congratulations to both of these girls and an extra congratulations goes out to Malori! Great job!

Coleridge AIG reading students transformed their classroom into a courtroom today and took the fairy tales to trial! 2nd/3rd graders charged the wolf with multiple crimes against the pigs and 4th/5th grade took Cinderella’s stepmother to court with multiple charges as well. If you want to know the outcomes, just ask any of the students. They are more than eager to discuss and willing to share their opinions.
