It is with a heavy heart I apologize for the delay in reaching out. Emotions and awareness have been heightened every day since the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, by the Minneapolis Police Department on May 25th, 2020. George Floyd represents the countless racist brutalities, injustices and systemic oppressions that have been imposed on persons of color for over four hundred years. The Black community has been held down by outdated systems and unfair treatment leading to a disproportionate number of deaths, incarcerations, lack of education and access to healthcare. This is unequivocally not acceptable.
Visiting Angels of Ramsey is a community of individuals whose core values revolve around love and safety. We know and feel the difference when love and connectedness is among us. Love heals, and through connected love, we are safer. We stand in solidarity with all persons of color in the revolutionary movement for reformation. Our staff has been in daily action donating funds, signing petitions, making phone calls, educating ourselves, listening intently, and will continue to develop meaningful ways to fight injustice.
Visiting Angels of Ramsey does not tolerate racism or bigotry. We are all-inclusive, and we value the differences that each culture contributes. We learn from one another every day and we grow together for a better tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Beth Nelson
Director, Visiting Angels of Ramsey
