Ranburne Police have had multiple reports of mailboxes being damaged in the area. One report was made on Friday that took place Thursday on county road 98 and there were multiple boxes damaged last night on county road 49,111 and county road 23. If anyone seen anything suspicious last night or Thursday please call 911 to report the activity.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Monday, June 29, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., deputies with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on County Road 45 in Ranburne regarding a possible missing female.

The female was identified as 66-year-old Teresa Reaves of Ranburne. Deputies learned that the last known contact with Teresa occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. that evening.

Deputies immediately began searching the area in an attempt to locate Teresa. Search efforts included the use of drones and ATVs, and deputies continued their efforts throughout the night.

On Tuesday at approximately 5:00 p.m., search teams located Teresa deceased.

This investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details regarding the incident will be released at this time.

We ask that everyone remember Teresa’s family and friends during this difficult time and in the days ahead.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Ranburne Police Department, Ranburne Fire Department, Cleburne County 911, Cleburne County Corners Office , and JSU Applied Forensics for their assistance and support during this search effort.

A Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to quickly locate the suspect vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, leading to the detention of the driver until Alabama Department of Corrections investigators could continue their investigation.

This case highlights the strong working relationship between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and demonstrates how cooperation and communication help keep our communities safe.

We commend our deputy for his alertness, professionalism, and swift response, which played a key role in bringing this incident to a successful conclusion.

The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office and multiple first responders are actively searching in the area of County Road 65 and County Road 490 for a missing 8-year-old boy with autism.

Description:
• White male
• 8 years old
• Dirty blond hair
• Blue eyes
• Wearing Mario underwear (blue)
• No shoes

If you see this child, call 911 immediately.

There is a large search effort underway by both ground and air. Many people have already reached out to help, thank you.
