Good afternoon,
The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Elk Burn Area in western Sheridan County until 4:45 PM MDT.
Thunderstorms are producing heavy rainfall over and near the burn scar. Up to one-half inch of rain has already fallen, with an additional one-half to one inch possible this afternoon. Rapid runoff may result in flash flooding, debris flows, mudslides, and rockslides in and downstream of the burn area, including locations near Dayton and Parkman.
Please monitor conditions closely if you have personnel or operations in the area.
If you receive any reports of debris flows, flooding, road impacts, or damage, please contact me as soon as possible so we can maintain situational awareness and coordinate with our partners.
