🚧 RED GRADE ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE 🚧

The start of the County Road #26 (Red Grade Road) improvement project has been delayed one additional week while the contractor awaits a required permit.

πŸ“… NEW EXPECTED START DATE
MONDAY, JULY 13

Once work begins, Red Grade Road will be closed:
β€’ Monday through Friday
β€’ 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
β€’ The road will reopen daily from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for lunch.

PROJECT LOCATION

The closure begins at the Base Trailhead and extends approximately 2.5 miles toward the Bighorn National Forest boundary.

TRAIL ACCESS

⚠️ During construction, access to the Base Trailhead, Springs Trailhead, Aspens Trailhead, and the trail system between those trailheads along Red Grade Road will be closed during work hours. Portions of the trailhead parking areas may also be unavailable due to construction staging.

βœ… Trails and trailheads outside the project area will remain accessible on weekends, holidays, and outside construction hours.

We appreciate everyone's patience as the project is delayed while permitting is completed. Please continue to watch for updates, as the expected start date could change if permitting is delayed further.

Questions about July 4th fireworks citations and what is a firework? See the attached definition. Citations were issued for discharging fireworks outside the allowed time, and for discharging them on public property. All citations issued were related to explosive fireworks not sparklers and smoke bombs even though those fit the definition. Fines were set at $250 although the code allows for fines up to $750.
