THANK YOU, FIVE STAR BANK!

A big thank you to the Five Star Bank Finance Team from their Rancho Cordova Headquarters for spending the day volunteering at the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub during our first full week of being open!

And they truly did it all — from parking lot duty and welcoming guests, to helping inside the grocery store, keeping food moving and shelves stocked. They jumped right in wherever they were needed!

We especially love seeing a Rancho Cordova-based business investing its people and time right here in the community we share.

Five Star Bank has been an important partner in bringing the Community Food Hub to life, and having their team roll up their sleeves and serve alongside us makes that partnership even more meaningful.

It takes a community to serve 1,500+ families each week, and volunteers are at the heart of making it happen.

Community service in action!

During the Jesuit High School Freshman Overnight Retreat on Saturday, August 22, students canvassed Carmichael neighborhoods and collected more than 1,600 pounds of food for the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub.

Just look at what they accomplished together...these generous donations will help fill our shelves and provide groceries for local families facing food insecurity.

Thank you, Jesuit freshmen, for beginning your high school journey with service—and thank you to the Carmichael neighbors who generously opened their doors and gave. 🧡

Our new Community Food Hub is open—and we need you!

Volunteers are the backbone of the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub. Whether you enjoy welcoming guests, organizing food, or working behind the scenes, there is a place for you on our team.

Volunteer shifts:
• Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
• Thursdays: 3:30–7:30 p.m.
• Third Saturday of each month: 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Opportunities include guest check-in, sharing guest information, data entry, food sorting, and stocking shelves.

What a wonderful day for our community! On Tuesday, August 18, nearly 50 Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce members, elected officials, community partners and friends gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub.

We are excited to open our doors to the public at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19. Our new Hub offers neighbors facing food insecurity a welcoming grocery-store experience grounded in dignity, respect and choice.

Thank you to the Chamber and everyone who joined this special celebration—and to the many people whose partnership, hard work and generosity made this moment possible.

The ribbon has been cut. The shelves are ready. Now it’s time to welcome our neighbors!

Backpacks, new shoes, sharpened pencils. ✏️ For kids to show up ready to learn, they also need to show up fed. Nutritious food fuels concentration, energy, and attendance, all the things that help a kid succeed on day one and every day after.

As we get ready to open the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub, this is exactly the kind of impact we're building toward: consistent, dignified access to good food for local families, including the students in our community.

Food has always been more than a meal—it is culture, connection, and love.

During the pandemic, my mom picked up food for my grandma and other relatives. When our family had enough, she shared with others. That experience showed me how generosity multiplies—and how food insecurity can touch any family.

This October, I’m proud to golf for the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub in the L5 Investments Capital Cup Charity Golf Tournament. The Food Hub gives families access to nutritious food with choice and dignity.
