After last night's fire, our personnel finished cleaning and restocking Engine 464 around 0130 hours this morning. With a small amount of sleeping hours we responded to another fire alarm in one of our neighboring company's first due at 0610hrs.
Fortunately this was only a false alarm but it shows you how an average call can quickly turn into a complex one in only a matter of minutes or be nothing at all. We then joined members of the Baltimore County Fire Department Training Division & East Battalion in a one-hour Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training drill at 0700hrs.
This drill simulated a very challenging rescue scenario of a downed firefighter inside a maze-like structure that required communication, critical-thinking, strength, endurance, and calm under pressure. Not only did our personnel participate but they recieved a plethora of constructive feedback to implement should we encounter such a challenging scenario.
Another well deserved shout-out to our members for their commitment to improving and a well-deserved 👏🏿 to the career members who are working diligently to ensure collaborative trainings and efforts continue in Baltimore County.
