Responsibilities
- Formulate budget estimates for multi-year programs, develops in-depth cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and programmatic actions and advises officials of the most advantageous courses of action.
- Performs independent qualitative and quantitative analysis and resolution of complex financial information related to budget reports, obligations, expenditures, projections.
- Compiles statistical information, and identify budgetary goals, accounting records, reports, and supporting documents, and initiate adjustment actions as required.
- Performs trend and gap analyses, reviews changes in program plans and advises on their effect on financial and budget plan milestones, identifies budget shortfalls, funding priorities and unfunded requirements.
- Develops resource ex*****on forecasting models, tools, and strategies for use in the planning, programming and budgeting processes.
Travel: Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
Security Clearance - Prior to reporting for duty, the selectee must hold a current DoD Top Secret security clearance based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), and be favorably adjudicated and approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum). Prospective candidates must meet criteria for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with DoD Directive 5210.5 (PSD Category II, minimum). Additionally, the incumbent SHALL be approved for access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI).

The FM Career Field Team is pleased to announce the opening of the application window for the Financial Management Tuition Assistance (FM TA) pilot. The tuition assistance pilot was approved as a voluntary program to address a shortage of employees in Mission Critical Occupation (MCO) 0510 accounting & 1515 operations research/cost analyst job series.

How it works: Employees who already possess a degree, but lack the mandatory 24 credit hours in accounting or advanced mathematics to meet qualification standards of 510 and 1515 job series, may utilize the AF Civilian Tuition Assistance Program (CTAP) to obtain the remaining credits needed to reach the 24 credit hours necessary. Upon completion of the mandatory 24 credit hours, employees may transition to an equivalent grade 510 or 1515 job series.

Who is eligible to apply: Permanent FM employees assigned to the pilot installations, grade GS-13 (equiv) and below in any job series, who already possess a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Pilot locations for 0510 series: National Capital Region, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Scott AFB, and Wright-Patterson AFB.

Pilot locations for 1515 series: National Capital Region, Eglin AFB, Maxwell-Gunter AFB, HANSCOM AFB, Hill AFB, Joint Base San Antonio, Kirtland AFB, Los Angeles AFB, Peterson AFB, Robins AFB, Scott AFB, Tinker AFB, and Wright Patterson AFB
