We have had some requests to make a GoFundMe for this effort. Thank you so, so much for those who have already contributed to our goal. It is such a big one, but I am hopeful we can reach it a bit at a time together. I truly believe this building will be able to be such a source of encouragement, education, inspiration and a source of refuge in some ways for many in our county and community in the future, and I look forward to seeing it come together. 💙 If you would like to help, please consider making a contribution and I will keep working on fundraising to reach this goal as soon as possible.

Also, thank you so much for those who came out to the Spaghetti Dinner. It was not only good to see everyone, but we got a good start to our goal and thank you so much to those who contributed.

🥰Exciting News! This is a long post, but I wanted to be sure everyone has a chance to read our posting to the newspaper, even if you don't get the paper!! Many of you already know, but it is exciting to make an official announcement!

🕍Randolph Methodist Church to be the New Community Library!

The City of Randolph is pleased to announce an exciting new chapter for our community: the Randolph Public Library will be relocating to the vacant Methodist Church building! The city purchased the building at minimal cost with the goal of preserving an important piece of Randolph’s history while providing space for library growth and community programs.

During the winter when the church was in transition before purchase, an unexpected water leak caused extensive damage throughout the building. However, thanks to a group of volunteers, all debris has now been removed, leaving us with a clean slate and a fresh start for restoration.

The library will be moving into the spacious basement level, which offers an ideal layout for expanded programming. The large open area and full kitchen will allow us to host more events, classes, and activities for all ages. Meanwhile, the main sanctuary will remain preserved exactly as it was during church services for now. In time, this beautiful historic space may also be made available for broader community use.

We are pleased to share that The Community Foundation has already provided two generous grants to support much of the renovation process, with additional funding opportunities being actively pursued. However, one of the most urgent needs is the repair of the building’s 5,000 square foot roof, which sustained major damage while uninsured during the spring of 2025. To address this, we will be hosting multiple community fundraisers in the coming months as well as looking into a potential matching grant award.

To support the most urgent need—the replacement of the building’s roof—a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 25th, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Randolph Community Building. The meal will be offered as a free will donation, with a minimum plate donation of $10 and $7 for children ages 12 and under. All proceeds will go directly toward the purchase of a new roof. Take out meals will be available.

During the event, the church will be open for public viewing. We invite you to stop in and see the progress that has been made, as well as the repairs that are still ahead.

It is our hope that these combined efforts—grants, fundraising, volunteer work, and careful planning—will allow us to save this meaningful structure and give it new life for generations to come. The project has been designed to place minimal burden on the city budget while maximizing community benefit.

We look forward to sharing more updates as work progresses and are grateful for the continued support of our incredible community. Together, we are building something truly special for Randolph’s future.

(Lots of photos are included, with more to come!) Photos include the original damage, as well as well as the gutted space.

📬✨ Exciting New Pen Pal Program Coming to the Randolph Library! ✨📬
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between the library and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), led by Sheri Bowen, to launch a meaningful Pen Pal Program connecting children and teens with seniors from our our local area!
Participants will exchange letters about once every three weeks. Letters will be brought to the library and mailed as a group, and each exchange will include a special Library Mail Day, when children and teens can stop by to pick up a letter from their pen pal—just like old-fashioned mail!
The program will conclude with a fun Meet Your Pen Pal event, giving participants the opportunity to meet the person they’ve been writing to.
This program is open to public and homeschool students who can commit to writing one letter approximately every three weeks. It’s a wonderful way to practice letter-writing skills, build meaningful connections, and share a memorable experience with a senior in our community.
📣 More program details will be coming soon!
In the meantime, please stop into the library or contact Shantelle to let her know you are thinking of participating, sign up, or get more information about the program.
We can’t wait to get letters moving and connections growing! 💌📚

We have been busy at the library resetting, weeding and orgazing from a very busy summer and fall. 🎃 We are preparing the library for Christmas and Winter activities.

Thank you immensely for those of you who helped with our hayrack ride, fall event. Especially those of you who gave candy to each little visitor. Despite a few hic-ups here and there and a bit of chilly rain, we had a nice night! 🌭

Thank you to Marsha Rassmussen, Dave Heywood, Deb Robertson, Deb Pijanowski, Susan Lafollette, Megan Rassmussen, Stephanie Aistrope and Dennis James for each part played in a successful evening.

Activities coming up this week at the library:

🍗Tuesday, November 25th - Big and Little Kid Bingo and Thanksgiving Treats

🎄We will be beginning a Christmas Around the World Lego Train Village during the month of December. If you have extra roof, window or basic lego blocks you would like to contribute to our Christmas village, please let me know!!
