Had a small group of potential future firefighters come in and look around today! we’re not sure if the kids or the adults were more excited about the flashing lights and the big trucks but we know everyone had big smiles by the time they left, thanks for taking the time to come by!

At approximately 1700 hours Randolph Village was dispatched to a reported grass fire along Rt 12 in Braintree.

The fire was spreading up hill fast when we arrived but thankfully for a couple off duty firefighters, good samaritans, and fast response and work by our members we were able to contain the fire before it got out of control.

We want to remind everyone that we have very dry conditions and any outside fire can grow fast. Due to the location of origin this fire was possibly due to a discarded cigarette…so another reminder to think before you discard your ci******es out your window.

Thanks again for all the good samaritans and to Randolph Center Fire for their mutual aid response.

Last night a few members from the village fire department joined Randolph center fire, and Brookfield fire department at a wild land burn in East Randolph. These bigger trainings are great for getting the local crews together and putting some of our equipment and basic wildland skills to the test as well as teaching some of the newer members things such as digging fire lines and checking for hot spots!

Every year we get together with the surrounding departments for some joint training and last nights subect was RIT (Rapid intervention team) which focuses on locating and rescuing Firefighters in distress, These are skills we hope we never have to use but must stay proficient in, we would like to thank Randolph center, East Randolph and Brookfield fire departments for sending some members to be apart of it!
