When the fire siren sounds, its not an invitation to the pack the streets to see where the trucks are going. It blows for 3 minutes, with the iconic high-low wail, as a courtesy to advise the public that volunteers are trying to make their way through town to the station. So please, when you hear the siren, clear the streets, wait in your parking stall for a few minutes until the siren stops. And give them room to work. Following a fire truck closer the 500ft is unlawful according to Nebraska Statute 60-6,183 and may result in fine. Interfering with a fireman or emergency medical personnel may result in arrest pursuant to NRS 28-908.

A man claiming to be displaced from the fire in Creighton is calling around attempting to scam people out of money and other assistance. The caller’s name is Shannon Marcus and is using a phone number of 402-860-6735. Calls have been made to Randolph residents and organizations as well.

ATVs and Golf Carts may be operated on the city streets with annual City Registration, South Dakota or other state registration is NOT valid, agricultural exceptions DO NOT apply unless route is directly to or from the work site. NO ATVs, UTVs, or Golf Carts are ever permitted on the highway unless crossing, per state law. ATVs, UTVs and Golf Carts MUST be:
Operated by a licensed driver 16+ of age
Have valid liability insurance coverage
Posses valid annual registration by the city
UTVs and ATVs must have a orange flag
ONLY operated during Daylight Hours
No ATVs, UTVs, or Golfcarts are permitted in the city park
