GOOD BOY K9 LUX!! Overnight, K9 Lux and Deputy Forlenza responded to search for a teen, highly intoxicated, in mental crisis. The teen left his home on foot and his family was obviously very concerned about him. K9 Lux conducted a track and located the man, near a lake. Paramedics were called and the teen was transported to an area hospital to receive assistance.

K9 Lux is already saving lives, following in the PawSteps of his dad, K9 Dax!

🌟 Congratulations to Officer Monica Dorsey! 🌟

We are proud to share that Officer Dorsey has been honored with this quarter’s Starfish Assignment "Make a Difference Award"!

Officer Dorsey has served the Springfield community for eight years, currently as the Neighborhood Police Officer for Beat 100. Her dedication to building relationships shines through in everything she does—from launching and leading our local Books & Badges program with kindergartners, to supporting seniors through the Senior Services Center and Sangamon County Triad, to partnering with Compass for Kids, the YMCA, and helping run Cops & Bobbers for our local youth.

Her compassion and commitment to residents of every age group make her an outstanding representative of SPD. Chief Joe Behl, Mayor Misty Buscher and the City of Springfield Directors surprised her with this award on behalf of the Starfish Assignment.

Back to School

Dale had his first full day of school this year, with his new School Resource Officer, Deputy Chris Greuel. Dale was sporting a new haircut and bandana, and was excited to go back and see all of his old friends.

We look forward to all of the great things SRO Lustig, SRO Greuel, and Deputy Dale, will do this school year. I know they will all work hard to make this a safe and successful school year for everyone.
