At its June 9, 2026 meeting, the Rangely Town Council adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 707, declaring a temporary municipal water shortage emergency in response to ongoing drought conditions affecting the Town's water supply. The ordinance establishes a four-stage drought response framework designed to protect water resources and ensure adequate supplies for domestic use, sanitation, fire protection, and essential public services.

In accordance with the provisions of C.R.S. 1-5-205 and C.R.S. 1-7.5-107(2.5) (a)(I), notice is hereby given that the June 30 th , 2026, Primary Election will be held by mail ballot with the following designated drop-off locations for mail ballots and voter service polling locations:

Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters on Monday, June 8 th , 2026. Application for a ballot to be mailed to an address other than the elector’s address of record may be made from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the County Clerk’s Main Office– 555 Main Street, Meeker, Colorado 81641 or the Rangely Office – 209 E. Main, Suite 101, Rangely, CO 81648. Forms are available on the County Clerk’s page of the Rio Blanco County website www.rbc.us or by calling (970) 878-9460. Persons wishing to vote in-person on ADA accessible voting equipment may do so at the Voter Service & Polling Locations at the Rio Blanco County Clerk’s Offices during the days and times listed above. Voters may receive a ballot at any Drop-Off location or Voter Service & Polling location at any time before 7:00pm on June 30th, 2026 - Election Day.

Ballots must be received by the Rio Blanco County Clerk & Recorder’s office by 7:00pm on Election Day in order for the ballot to be counted. Ballots received after 7:00pm on Election Day will not be counted. Postmarks do not count as received.

Sample ballots containing the names of each person certified by the respective district and state offices as a candidate for election at the Coordinated Election and entitled to receive votes at such election can be found at www.rbc.us/177/Elections

Rio Blanco County election night results will be updated as available after 7PM Election Day and again by Noon the following day on the county website at www.rbc.us/177/Elections

Mosquito Fogging Update:

We will be fogging for mosquitoes this week in the Town of Rangely! Our crew will be out treating the town when weather conditions allow (calm, non-windy days). We’ll work in the evenings and early mornings to be most effective and will do our best to cover all areas of town.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we knock down the mosquito population!

The Town of Rangely will hold a public Emergency Council Meeting on water Monday, June 1, 2026, at 7:00 pm at Rangely Town Hall. The council will adopt an ordinance to prepare the town for possible water restrictions. All residents are welcome to attend and share input.

A flyer was mailed to each resident today. The flyer is also attached to this post.
