The Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District’s traditional 4th of July fireworks were postponed this year due to drought conditions and fire restrictions. They had hoped to reschedule them for Labor Day weekend, but unfortunately, there was not enough time to safely organize the fireworks display once conditions allowed and approval was received.

Now they have another idea — let’s celebrate this October with the best fireworks in the state - celebrating:

🇺🇸 America’s 250th Anniversary
🏔️ Colorado’s 150th Anniversary
💚 Rangely’s 80th Anniversary

The Rec Center is also considering combining the rescheduled fireworks display and our great year long history celebration with an OctoberFest community celebration! This will be the best fireworks display in the state celebrating so many wonderful things and most importantly Rangely - shot over Kenney Reservoir!

We want to hear from the community and if the community is on board help choose the weekend!

Please take the following community survey and let us know your thoughts. Below is the link to the survey.

💧 WATER UPDATE | STAGE 2 RESTRICTIONS💧

We are grateful for the recent rain and the positive impact it has had on our river and local water levels!

On Monday, the Town of Rangely was able to move from Stage 3 Water Restrictions back to Stage 2 Water Restrictions. This is certainly welcome news, and we appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation and efforts to conserve water.

While conditions have improved, we know they can change quickly. The Town will continue to closely monitor river flows and water conditions. If conditions change and adjustments to our water restriction stage are necessary, we will make those changes accordingly.

For now, we are thankful for the rain, thankful for the improvement, and hopeful for more moisture in the days ahead. 🌧️💙

Please continue to follow all Stage 2 Water Restrictions.

Thank you, Rangely, for doing your part!

💧 WATER RESTRICTION UPDATE – RETURN TO STAGE 2 💧

Effective immediately, the Town of Rangely is lifting Stage 3 Water Restrictions and returning to Stage 2 Water Restrictions.
Recent moisture, along with conservation efforts upriver, has helped increase flows on the White River. We sincerely thank our residents and businesses for your cooperation and conservation efforts while Stage 3 restrictions were in place.

Under Stage 2, mandatory water restrictions remain in effect, but outdoor watering with potable water is once again permitted three days per week based on your address.

📌 Please review the attached notice carefully for the Stage 2 watering schedule, permitted watering times, and information regarding violations.

While conditions have improved, continued conservation remains important. Every effort to use water responsibly helps protect our community's water supply.

Thank you, Rangely, for your continued cooperation and understanding! 💧

💧 WEDNESDAY WATER UPDATE 💧

We are grateful to share some encouraging news for our Wednesday Water Update — the White River is currently flowing around 42 CFS.

After the extremely low flows we have experienced this summer, every increase is welcome news. We are incredibly thankful for EVERYONE who has played a role in helping ensure water continues to flow and for the cooperation and conservation efforts that are being made.

This drought has been an important reminder of just how precious our water resources are and how quickly conditions can change. While we are thankful for the improvement, drought conditions remain, and continued conservation is important and necessary. We will remain at Stage 3 Water Restrictions.

But today, we are simply grateful to see more water in the river — and we will continue hoping for some much-needed rain! 🌧️

Thank you for continuing to do your part. 💙
