September is su***de prevention month. A reminder to the community that help is available. So far this year, the Rantoul Police have responded to 202 crisis-related calls, of which 36 were related to su***de. That means 36 people, their families, and their friends need support during these difficult moments.

Our officers are trained to respond and recognize the signs of su***de. They are the gateway to help for those struggling. If you are struggling, or know someone who is, please reach out. With a heat warning in effect this week, please remember to practice HEAT SAFETY, and learn to recognize the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Also remember that a cooling shelter has been established at the Forum Fitness Center from 6am to 8pm each day. If you need a shelter after hours, you can visit the Rantoul Police Department or call 911 and they can direct you to the closest County shelter.

Another good place to go is the . Their hours are Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 9:00pm, Friday and Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

It’s almost Spooky Season!! 🎃

We will be hosting our Annual Halloween Party on Monday, October 26th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Rantoul Family Sports Complex. There will be inflatables, games, free hotdogs and chips, and of course LOTS of candy!
