Please help me in welcoming the newest member of the South Dakota Army National Guard, Josef Meehan! Josef enlisted as a 12W Carpentry and Masonry Specialist with the 842nd Engineer Company in Belle Fourche, SD. Being a junior in high school, he took full advantage of the split train option allowing him to attend this summer and then to attend Advanced Individual Training in the summer of 2025! Josef was sworn in at by his mother, LTC Tracy Graves.

He has decided to continue his service with the National Guard and put his prior experience and degrees to work as a 09S Commissioned Officer Candidate! Richard has recently graduated from Hill City High School and enlisted as a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in the 109th En Bn Forward Support Company in Rapid City, SD. He qualified for a $20,000 enlistment bonus as well as the G.I. Bill kicker!! Welcome to the SD National Guard and I can’t wait to see where your career takes you!
