LiDAR may not be a household name, but the technology provides millimeter‑level data of America’s infrastructure. We cannot rely on Chinese LiDAR systems to examine our roads, and I’m glad my bill to protect America from this spy technology is included in the BUILD America 250 Act.

The students at Boys State in Aberdeen are a fun and thoughtful group. It was great to talk with them about Congress and the role of the federal government. I know their work will improve South Dakota and America over the next 20 years and beyond.

China has built a multi‑billion‑dollar industry by selling illegal, dangerous vapes to our kids. China must stop evading our trade laws and stop sending these vapes into our country.

America’s infrastructure is lagging behind China’s. Our roads are filled with potholes and many of our bridges need rebuilt. D.C. bureaucrats must reject political and climate agendas and let the free market work to revitalize our highways and our supply chain.

Supply chains keep our economy moving. In fact, surface transportation like trucking and rail move 73% of all goods in the United States.
