Happy 9th Birthday to K9 Liberty!

Today, Liberty is celebrating her 9th birthday with her handler and family.

Liberty has served our local communities for the past seven years and continues to be a dependable and valued member of the team. At 9 years old, she remains healthy, motivated, and eager to work alongside her handler.

With the new school year underway, Liberty and her handler will also continue visiting local schools and interacting with students throughout the community.

We are grateful for Liberty’s seven years of service and the role she continues to play in supporting our officers and the community we serve.

Taste of Rathdrum Emphasis Patrol Results

During Taste of Rathdrum, officers part of the North Idaho DUI Taskforce who come from the Rathdrum Police Department, Coeur d’Alene Police Department, and Idaho State Police conducted a coordinated traffic emphasis focused on keeping our roadways safe.

Officers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the area and conducted proactive traffic enforcement during the event.

Combined enforcement activity included:

• 84 Traffic Stops
• 2 DUI Arrests
• 1 Injury to Child Charge
• 2 Driving Without Privileges Charges
• 0 DUI Crashes
• 0 DUI Fatalities

Most importantly, we are pleased to report that there were no DUI crashes or DUI fatalities associated with the emphasis.

We appreciate our law enforcement partners for working alongside us and everyone who made the responsible choice to designate a sober driver or find a safe ride home.

Our goal with these emphasis patrols is simple: reduce impaired driving, prevent crashes, and make sure everyone gets home safely.

TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT EMPHASIS

The Rathdrum Police Department, in collaboration with the North Idaho DUI Task Force, will be conducting increased traffic enforcement in and around Rathdrum tonight.

Officers will be focused on identifying impaired drivers and other dangerous driving behaviors that put our community at risk.

If you plan to drink, plan ahead. Designate a sober driver, arrange a ride, and never get behind the wheel impaired.

Drive safe. Drive sober. Help us keep Rathdrum’s roads safe for everyone.
