Have a great 4th of July weekend! Quick reminder, section 10-303 of our municipal code prohibits use or discharge of fireworks inside the Town of Ratliff City. Please make arrangements to celebrate with fireworks outside of town. Have fun everyone, but remember to have a designated driver and be safe when using fireworks. It won't be fun to spend the weekend in jail or the hospital so celebrate responsibly! ~Chief Helmke~

We have tried to be a little more visible lately. The 19th, 20th & 21st we did a special emphasis weekend. We conducted 12 traffic stops for 14 separate violations. The average speed for speeding violations was 14.5 mph over the posted limit. We physically checked 20 locations in town that warranted a special stop. We removed two road hazards and had one motorist assist.
37.25 hours were spent driving the city streets alone (285 miles in our town) out of 51 hours Officers spent on duty. There were zero thefts, accidents or criminal complaints at all during this period. Every traffic stop this weekend resulted in a verbal or written warning. ~Chief Helmke~
