Chip Sealing Operations have been scheduled by American Road Maintenance for Tuesday June 2, 2026. Tuesday’s operations will begin on a short stretch of Woodrow between South 2nd and State Street, crews will then work on Pimlot, Fuqua, Beery, Oliver, Sage Brush and Meadow Lane. If time allows crews will move to Called del Luna and Calle Del Sol area. What isn’t completed on Tuesday will be continued on Wednesday. Traffic Control setup and sweeping operations typically begin around 7:00 AM. Residents are asked to remove any vehicles or trailers from the roadway during business hours. Street Closures will generally take place for four to five blocks at a time for a period of about 1 hour. The public is asked to use alternate routes when possible and to expect delays. Travelers should expect loose aggregate on these streets. Bicycle and motorcycle riders should use an abundance of caution in these areas. In preparation for this project City of Raton crews are actively sweeping and patching subject streets. The first phase of Chipseal Operations is slated to last approximately 3 weeks with a fog seal to follow. Subject Streets include Sagebrush, Meadow, Calle de Luna, Call Del Sol. Los Arboles, El Camino. Calle Arriba, State Street, and portions of Woodrow, Hereford, and Brilliant. Traffic Control setup and sweeping operations typically begin around 7:00 AM. Residents are asked to remove any vehicles or trailers from the roadway during business hours.
