💜 September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month in Colfax County 💜
The Colfax County Board of Commissioners has declared September as Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, joining communities across New Mexico in raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and helping connect people with resources that can save lives.
As part of this effort, Colfax County is encouraging members of our community to participate in the State of New Mexico’s FREE ABC Su***de Intervention Training Program.
The ABC training is designed to help everyday community members recognize when someone may be struggling, learn how to respond, and understand how to connect someone in crisis with appropriate help and resources. You do not have to be a mental health professional to make a difference — knowing what to look for and how to respond can help save a life.
Throughout September, we encourage Colfax County residents, families, educators, employers, first responders, community organizations, and anyone who wants to help strengthen our community to learn more and participate in this free training opportunity.
💜 Awareness matters. Education matters. Connection matters. Together, we can help prevent su***de.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or su***de crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
