Rural and small town peace officers are tasked with the same job as the largest departments in the country. They are to protect and serve the citizens of their community. However, they are expected to do so with a mere fraction of a percent of the budget that larger departments receive.

They face the same threats, but are expected to stand against evil without the resources that other officers have at their disposal.

Our rural and small town peace officers deserve the same access to high quality training that is so readily available to other departments and offices. Rattan public schools will start back August 5, 2026.

The school lights will be on for 25 mph from
7:25am to 8:25am
2:45pm to 3:45pm
Monday thru Friday

Lights will start August 3, 2026 and enforcement will start August 5, 2026

🚔 WELCOME OUR NEW FULL-TIME RATTAN POLICE OFFICERS! 🚔

The Town of Rattan is proud to recognize two outstanding officers who have shown dedication, integrity, and commitment to our community.

For more than three years, Reserve Officer William (Trey) Wood III and Reserve Officer Brady Palmer have faithfully served the Rattan Police Department whenever needed. Their willingness to work when they could and serve has earned the respect of our department and our citizens.

Today, we are honored to announce that:
