Per the New York State Thruway Authority, repairs on the thruway overpass over Main Street are complete. All lanes have returned to a normal traffic pattern.

Residents are also advised that there may be short-term closures in the area next week to finish off the repairs.

Repairs to the New York State Thruway overpass on Main Street continue to be made.

Main Street is down to one lane with an alternating traffic pattern. Please use caution in the area.

"Due to damage found on one of the steel girders of overpass that carries the Thruway (I-87) over Main Street in the Village of Ravena the Thruway Authority will be performing urgent repairs that will affect local traffic. Traffic will remain open at all times but will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic controlled by flaggers beneath the overpass while repairs take place. The Authority has already started the repair process and will continue to work around the clock until the repairs are complete with a current estimated time of completion of late tomorrow afternoon. This worksite will be staffed by Authority personnel for the duration and is expected to cause minimal disruption."

Today, Ravena Rescue Squad is standing by with our partners at Coeymans Hollow Fire Department at Echo Valley for motorcross racing.

The Village of Ravena Fire Department Cadets will be meeting this evening. The meeting will take place in the firehouse at 6:30 pm.

If you or someone you know are interested in the program, you are more than free to stop down this evening and see what we are all about and ask any questions you may have.

Our Fire Cadet program is designed for those who are between the ages of 12 and 16. Our Junior Firefighter program is for anyone between the age of 16 and 18.

If you are interested in the Junior Firefighter program, you are also more than welcome to stop in!
