Friends: On behalf of the candidates and the Democratic Committee, THANK YOU for your enthusiasm and support this election season. Our candidates worked hard, and your encouragement was absolutely what kept them going!

🎉Big congratulations to Stephen Donnelly, who has won a second term as Town Supervisor!🎉

Congratulations, as well, to the winners of the Council and Highway seats. (The Clerk and Justice candidates, Candace McHugh and Ron Hotaling, ran unopposed on the Dem, Rep and Con lines.)

Here's a little more info about the election results:

👉🏽Donnelly won by 125 votes

👉🏽LaMountain missed by about 40 votes

👉🏽Demitraszek missed by about 30 votes

👉🏽the Democratic slate (LaMountain, Demitrazsek, Rizzo) SWEPT 🧹 across the board in all three districts in the Village and Hamlet. However:

👉🏽the voters in the two districts in the Hollow came out in bigger numbers to push the opposing slate (minus George McHugh) to win the other seats

👉🏽Of roughly 5,000 registered voters in Coeymans, only about 2,000 voted on Tuesday. And this is one of the bigger turnout in recent years.

What does this tell us? It tells us that EVERY vote counts in our local elections and that we need to encourage more of our friends and neighbors to participate in the voting process.

As your Democratic representatives here in Coeymans, the Committee will be working on ways to improve voter turnout in future elections. If anyone has suggestions or has interest in joinng the Committee, please reach out.

We are proud of the solid campaigns run by our candidates. Thanks, again, to everyone who helped make them possible. 🇺🇸❤️

I have shared my thoughts, my vision, and my heart on this page and my personal page as well as in a letter to the editor of the News Herald, in a request for information for a News Herald article, in my campaign flyer, in the many conversations with residents, at events, at meetings, etc.

Now I will simply ask once again for your vote.

This will help so, so many people/families.

A genuine concern for residents and the desire to use his Supervisor powers to do GOOD deeds FOR RESIDENTS are what inspire Stephen Donnelly to action.

From Village of Ravena Deputy Mayor, Nancy Warner:

In light of the postcard I received today from the Republican Party attacking Donnelly, I have decided to finally share one of my personal experiences from 2021 with McHugh…..

While working as an Election Inspector, with the blessing & approval of Alb County Board of Elections, at Coeymans Firehouse in November 2021 I was the subject of an undeniably proven false allegation made to the NYS Attorney General by McHugh, who was running for Supervisor at the time (- he campaigned on “taking truck traffic off of Main Street” which never occurred).

Please see below the actual phone complaint made by McHugh (obtained via FOIL) & the statement after I hired a private investigator to obtain a formal, sworn statement from the person I allegedly “told how to vote”. Their name was made available to me after I made a second request for that “redacted” name.

Is this the type of person you want representing the Town of Coeymans - a man/lawyer who is supposed to uphold the highest level of integrity? An ethical lawyer means they are honest, respectful, fair, trustworthy & upholds a strong moral code.

Filing a false instrument against me for unknown reasons is beyond despicable.

Any yes, after further investigation, the Board of Elections found out they never should have approved me working as I was an elected official - this is how McHugh will try to deflect from this situation.

With one week until Election Day I want to share with you all one of the positive takeaways from this whole, sometimes stressful, campaign process. Seeing former students and/or families of former students has been a heartwarming experience. Being a teacher was not a “job”to me…it was and still is part of who I am. My students were my kids…in that time we spent together they were not just names on my class lists or numbers in my grade book. They were so much more; they became part of my heart and remained so over the years. This particular former student appeared in my classroom, I think in the fall of 1984,as a 7th grader. Can you believe that was over 40 years ago?!!!

I do hope and would be so proud to work in collaboration with the mayor and many of the other wonderful people in our town to move Coeymans forward. I so love this town…thank you Coeymans!
