PMHA has been awarded funding from the HUD-VA Supportive Housing (VASH) program for 15 additional Section 8 vouchers to assist homeless veterans in Portage County. Homeless veterans, or people who know a homeless veteran who needs help, should call 1-877-424-3838 to learn more about getting the assistance needed. This program is one way of ending homelessness for the men and women who have served our country.

A resident of PMHA's Townsquare Villas complex has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Ohio Housing Authorities Conference, the statewide association for Ohio public housing authorities. We are very proud to have one of the best students in assisted housing across the state living in Portage County. Our residents are taking the steps to improve their lives and become self sufficient.

PMHA is closing its Section 8 waiting list for tenant-based vouchers, effective May 31, 2014. The waiting lists for Public Housing and other housing programs will remain open.

Root House, a program for men's recovery from alcohol and drug addicitions, has been recognized by the Ravenna Chamber of Commerce for its role in the community. PMHA contributes by providing a site for this important and much needed program.

HUD is willing to extend our Moving to Work Agreement for another ten years, moving the end date for this critical flexibility for housing assistance to December 31, 2028!
