Summer is winding down and fall is right around the corner. We are excited to announce that our remodel project at the Senior Center is almost complete and getting very close to welcoming everyone back! If all goes as planned, we should be back in our building in October. We know you’ve all been looking forward to returning and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this project. Please stay tuned for our reopening announcements! We will share the official date as soon as it is confirmed. Until then come see us at our temporary location at the VFW Hall.

Come join us for activities, special events, socialization, and plenty of fun.

This month we have live music by Randy Litch on Wednesday, September 2nd @ 10:30am. Patty & The Travelin’ 4 Band will be performing on Thursday, September 17th at our monthly Birthday party luncheon. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy our big dance floor!

Trips include Bonney Lake Shopping, Red Wind Casino, WA State Fair, exploring the Proctor District in Tacoma and a Mystery Lunch.

Hikes include Federation Forest, Little Lake and ending with a picnic at Deep Lake. Pickleball Club is still meeting at MacFarland Park on Wednesdays at 10am. Bring your own paddle.

We enjoyed the afternoon at the Enumclaw Pro Rodeo held at the Enumclaw Expo Center Rodeo Arena. The Enumclaw Pro Rodeo organization maintains the tradition and history of rodeo on the Enumclaw plateau and Pacific Northwest, which has lasted over 75 years. Events included ba****ck riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and bull riding.

Our latest mystery dinner was at Duke's Seafood on Ruston Way in Tacoma. Duke's Seafood has been a Tacoma restaurant for over 20 years, with waterfront dining and views of Commencement Bay and Puget Sound. The food was excellent and the service was amazing.

It was a gorgeous day to be in Gig Harbor riding on the Gig Harbor Gondola. John sang and provided information on points of interest as he paddled the gondola around the harbor. After the ride, everyone enjoyed a meal at Tides Tavern. It's also a beautiful view of the harbor from the ladies bathroom.

Please be aware. There are some fake city emails asking for wire transfers for payments. If you have any questions regarding any payment requests, contact the appropriate city department.

The City of Enumclaw has received several reports of phishing attempts requesting wire transfers for payments. These emails are cleverly crafted to appear to come from legitimate city employees. These emails do not originate from our city email system or staff, and they request payment for city services via wire transfer. The City of Enumclaw will never request payment via wire or bank transfer, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other non-standard means. If you have questions regarding a suspicious payment request, feel free to contact the appropriate city department.

August Newsletter!

Join us for Root B**r Float Day and music by Randy Litch on Wednesday, August 5th. Our monthly Birthday Party with Patty and the Travelin’ 4 Band is on Thursday, August 20th. We have a photography class on Thursday, August 6th and a summer cooking class scheduled for Wednesday, August 19th. Come learn how to take amazing photos and how to make an easy summer meal. Don’t forget to RSVP!

August trips include a ride on the Gig Harbor Gondola and lunch at Tides, movie day at Regal Tall Firs Cinema, a trip to Emerald Queen Casino, a drive to Mount Rainier’s Sunrise Visitor Center and lunch at Naches Tavern, thrift shopping at Deseret Industries, attending the Enumclaw Professional Rodeo and going on food adventures (Mystery Dinner and Mystery Lunch).

The hikes in August include the Cedar River Trail and Franklin Coal Mine. Spots are limited!

It was a beautiful day for our 2.5 hour Deception Pass crab cruise from La Connor. The cruise included a delicious cracked crab lunch, a fully narrated tour aboard the 60' M/V Rosario with inside seating and outdoor viewing on two levels, with views of Deception Pass and the Swinomish Channel. Everyone really enjoyed the meal and the cruise.
